  • Fort Totten State Historic Site is the best preserved military post of the Dakota frontier era.  The Fort's visitors center and buildings open from May 16th through September 15th, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (CST).  Adjacent parking, seventeen original buildings, interpretive center, Pioneer Daughter's Museum, modern facilities, limited ADA accessibility.  There is an admission fee.  Please check their web site for additional information: http://www.state.nd.us/hist/totten/totten.htm
  • Prairie Village Mueum, Rugby ND, Rows of classic cars, fully stocked general store shelves, antique guns, hobo jungle, early train travel, Native American and Eskimo artifacts, wildlife displays, scandinavian heritage, and a complete pioneer village.   • International Peace Gardens, Dunseith ND, devoted to World Peace, along the world's longest unfortified border, lies a 2,339 acre Botanical Garden.  More than 150,000 tourists are attracted to the garden annually.  Campgrounds for campers and RVs are set among Aspen and Oak Trees. Hiking and auto tours, through verdant Turtle Mountain Forests and past the pristine waters of Lake Udall and Lake Storman, yields, as great a variety of birds, as found anywhere else in North America.
