Welcome to the gardendwellers FARM
Learning Based Vacation Program

Where You Try It!

Thank you for your interest in our Learning Based Vacation (LBV) programs.  Below you’ll find some introductory information to help you learn more about the programs and how you can become involved in our state’s unique culture and heritage.

What is a Learning Based Vacation?youtry

One of the fastest growing segments in the tourism industry is called cultural and heritage tourism. Visitors identify with North Dakota’s rich cultural traditions, historic towns, nature and outdoor recreation, and heritage products and events.

Part of the cultural and heritage sector includes learning based vacations, which cater to groups or individuals looking to combine learning new skills with fun and adventure. Learning Based Vacations create the opportunity for visitors to customize their gardendwellers FARM experience. Visitors may choose to learn new skills in a variety of areas including (but not limited to) herbs, organic and sustainable gardening, garden and nature art, birding, pioneer cultures of North Dakota, living history and prairie spirituality. Learning Based Vacations offer entertaining, educational, and hands-on components to touring the great state of North Dakota.

How Can I Participate In Learning Based Vacations?

The Tourism Division has created a database of LBV Program Providers, North Dakotans willing share their knowledge about a certain area with visitors to our state. Providers, like gardendwellers FARM, book themselves as their schedule allows, whether it’s for a one hour tour or a weeklong excursion.

Creating your own LBV program can be a fun and exciting adventure of your own! In developing your program along with us, you determine your own activities, length of stay, and can even help choose your accommadations like hotels, restaurants and specialty shops.

Our Promise Your Promise

We guarantee that we will do whatever we can to make your stay safe, comfortable and enjoyable.  While we are rural, we are not out of touch.  We do not encourage our guests to use their technology while they are visiting; however, access is available to satellite internet and most cell phones will find sufficient signal for operation.  All accommodations and activities are close to modern restroom facilities.  The region boasts a high quality of health care facilities and doctors.  Several health care professionals, clinics and hospitals are available within a 17 mile radius.  We take pride in customizing your experience to match your level of abilities and your desires are our delights.  If you need coffee in the morning, be assured we will be here to make it for you.  We take pride in the clean air, gardens, and open areas that are gardendwellers FARM.  In return, we ask that you respect the land as well.  We ask that our guests not litter or knowingly harm natural or man-made objects while spending time with us.  We value nature, honesty, respect, and sustainable living.  We ask that our guests do the same.  Please come join us here where ‘if you stand on a kitchen chair you can see tomorrow’ and enjoy all there is to see and do at gardendwellers FARM.
